CARL NOAH OBITUARY
Carl Waldo Noah
Carl Noah, 81, husband of Nancy Noah, of Lake Forest, CA, and formerly of Ft. Myers Beach, FLA, died peacefully at home in Lake Forest on Tuesday July 7, 2022 after a short illness. Born in Needles, CA, Carl was the son of the late Gladys and Walter Noah, and worked for and created many construction companies in California, Texas, and Florida in the 1960's, 1970's, and 1980's. After constructing most the new condominiums along the Ft. Myers Beach, and Sanibel Island Florida beachfront he retired to pursue a new career in financial investing and trading stock on the New York Stock Exchange. Carl's other passion was a need for speed racing Triumph motorcycles, Corvette cars, and drag-ski boats out in the Arizona and California desert and Colorado River from Parker to Lake Havasu.
Although Carl had no children of his own, he was quite a family man almost all of his life whether it be as great-grandfather, step-father or cousin. From around 1965 to the Spring of 2002 Carl was married to Elizabeth (Betty) Hatheway and was step-father to her children Diann, Dana, and Darryl Hatheway for 55 years helping raise them until Betty passed away from Alzheimer's Disease. Then Carl met Nancy Locht in Orange County (CA) and was married in 2002 and would have celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary this year. Carl was also step-father to Nancy's two sons Michael and Steven Locht.
He always gave us great advice, and knew the value of higher education and college degrees, and tried to help encourage and support all his step-children, step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. Carl was very happy to have recently reconnected with many cousins from his father's Noah family.
Carl's love of adventure crossed many lands, but mostly he loved playing in the waters of the oceans, rivers, and lakes which kept him behind the wheel of many motorboats, sailboats, and even some time out surfing with his step-son Darryl. After Nancy retired, Carl and Nancy began their overland and off-road treks and tours across the USA, in the 4WD power of his EarthRoamer. Then they began going on National Geographic/Lindblad cruises and expeditions to see and experience the great natural wonders and fascinating cultures around the world, including guided tours of: Antarctica, Pyramids of Egypt, Russia, Glacier Bay Alaska, Panama Canal, Sea of Cortez, Galapagos Island, and many more adventures. In all, Carl and Nancy went on about 20 these adventures of which many were shared trips with family members.
